Happy Birthday Hyun Joong
On May 24th, an article with an video titled, ‘Kim Hyun Joong escapes security eyes’ and receives a letter from a fan secretly” surfaced and spread like wildfire on Korean community website.
In the video, we can see a female fan following Kim Hyun Joong from behind, hoping to pass him her letter. Kim Hyun Joong despite being in front of her, but seemingly knew what she was doing and just took her letter nonchalantly without security noticing it.
The video was apparently snapped during May 20th when Kim Hyun Joong attended gagman, Jung Jun Ha’s wedding. His action showed his sincerity towards his fan, and also displayed aptly his humorous side and innate beauty in doing so with a smile.
Fans commented, “Kim Hyun Joong treats his fans very well, so touching”, “He really understands his fans’ sincerity”, “He really thinks of the big picture”, “Really need to see him in a different light”.

According to the January million single/album list released by the Recording Industry Association of Japan on the 10th, Kim Hyun Joong’s Japanese debut single, ‘Kiss Kiss/Lucky Guy’ has been certified Gold.
The Recording Industry Association of Japan accredits ‘Gold’ certification to albums that sell over 100k copies. With his Gold certification Kim Hyun Joong is making news together with Kara, the group has reached Triple Platinum on the same day.
The Gold certification is even more impressive when you consider the fact that the feat has been achieved in just two weeks. Kim Hyun Joong has sold 71,812 copies of his album on the day of its release, it was ranked #2 on the Oricon Daily chart on the same day, and it continues to sell very well.
Kim Hyun Joong has kicked off his Japanese promotion with record setting numbers since last month. Kim Hyun Joong has sold most albums ever by a debuting foreign artist, since the inception of Oricon Weekly chart on March of 2009.
Kim Hyun Joong held his debut commemoration concert on the 5th, at the Yokohama Arena with 20,000 lucky fans. Kim Hyun Joong stated, “I’m only a rookie, thank you for giving me such great result”.

Kim Hyun Joong is planning to present colorful performances of some of the songs off of his first mini album ‘Break Down’ and the second mini album ‘Lucky Guy’ at the ’2012 Kim Hyun Joong Fan Meeting in Seoul’. Kim Hyun Joong will also spend some time together with the fans to feel closer to each other
On November 9th, Hanteo Chart has has revealed the results for the ‘Hanteo Award’ which is based on albums released from January 1st 2011 through November 7th 2011. Kim Hyun Joong has sold over 200,000 copies with just 2 solo albums released and the results place Kim Hyung Joong on the 1st place for solo artists
At the 2011 MAMA at Singapore Indoor Stadium on November 29th, Kim Hyun Joong presented a stage for the fans right after winning the Male Artist Award.
During the performance, Kim Hyun Joong came down from the stage and reached out his hand to Suzy, and Suzy, as if she’s been waiting, grabbed Kim Hyun Joong’s hand and stepped on to the stage for a great dance together.
Kim Hyun Joong and Suzy had matching outfits in black and Suzy’s black mini dress in particular was absolutely cute.
Some of the stars attending the ’2011 MAMA’ include, Goo Joon Yub, 4Minute member Hyuna, Kim Hyun Joong, Miss A, Dynamic Duo, Brown Eyed Girls, BEAST, Simon D, Seo In Young, SNSD, Super Junior, Ooh La La Session, YB, Huh Gak, 2NE1, Two Months, Christina Love Lee, Dr. Dre, Lang Lang, Snoop Dogg, Will I. Am, and Koda Kumi.
The 2011 MAMA is to be broadcast live in 19 countries including; Korea, China, Japan, Singapore, the U.S.A, and some of the countries in Europe
